Terms of Service

Last updated: July 26, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and TODO(user): legal entity name, of TODO(user): registered postal address (the operator of 1origin — the "app", "we", "us"), covering your use of the 1origin iOS app and related services. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and is part of this agreement.

1. The subscription

  • The paid tier, 1origin premium, is an auto-renewing annual subscription: 7 days free, then $119.99 per year (or the equivalent in your local currency, shown in the app before you confirm).
  • The free trial is available to eligible new subscribers. If you do not cancel before the 7 days end, payment is charged to your Apple ID and the subscription begins.
  • The subscription renews automatically each year until canceled. Your Apple ID is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Cancel any time in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Deleting the app — or deleting your 1origin account — does not cancel the subscription; only cancelling through Apple does.
  • Any unused portion of the free trial is forfeited when you purchase.
  • Payments, renewals, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's Media Services terms; refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Use Restore Purchases in the app to recover an existing subscription on a new device.

If we change the price, the change applies from your next renewal, and Apple notifies you in advance with the option to cancel.

2. Estimates, not measurements

Every calorie, macro, and nutrition figure in 1origin is an estimate. No app can weigh your plate — even printed nutrition labels are legally permitted to vary by around 20%. What 1origin is built for is consistency (the same meal producing the same number, so your trend is real) rather than false precision, and every value can be corrected. Recovery and readiness readings, pantry quantities, and plan suggestions are estimates too — the readiness percentage is computed from your own recent HRV history against your own 30-day baseline, and is guidance, never a clinical measurement. Do not rely on any figure in 1origin where accuracy matters medically — for insulin dosing, medically supervised diets, allergy decisions, or anything similar.

3. Not medical advice

Both 1origin and its coach, Sloane, provide general wellness and lifestyle support. They do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and nothing in the app creates a doctor–patient relationship. The coach is an AI system: it can be wrong, and it is designed to decline medical questions. Always consult a qualified clinician before changing your diet, exercise, or any medication — and especially if you are pregnant, have an eating-disorder history, or have any medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice because of something 1origin said.

4. If you are struggling

The app, 1origin, is not a crisis service. If you are in crisis, having thoughts of self-harm, or your relationship with food or your body feels out of control, please stop and reach out to a real person: in the US, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or text "NEDA" to 741741 (eating-disorder support); elsewhere, contact your local emergency services or a licensed professional. The coach is designed to step aside and point you to these resources rather than coach you through a crisis.

5. Eligibility

You must be at least 17 years old to use 1origin, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live (or have a parent or guardian's consent). 1origin is not directed at children.

6. Your account and acceptable use

7. Your content and our service

You own what you log and write. You give us the limited license needed to operate the service — storing your entries, syncing them between your devices, and sending coach messages with their context to our AI provider to generate replies (see the Privacy Policy). The app, its design, its brand, and its software remain ours. We work to keep 1origin available and improving, but we may change, add, or remove features over time.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

We provide 1origin "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of 1origin; our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you — nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

9. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for 1origin and is not responsible for addressing claims relating to the app, though Apple may enforce these terms as a third-party beneficiary.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect, and continuing to use 1origin afterwards means you accept them. These terms are governed by the laws of TODO(user): governing-law jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction — nothing here removes rights you have under the mandatory consumer law of your own country of residence.

Contact

Questions about these terms: TODO(user): support inbox email. The entity name, postal address, jurisdiction and inbox above are the only facts on this page that cannot be derived from the app itself; every other statement matches what ships.
