Common questions
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: open iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → 1origin and tap Cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
How does the free trial work?
Eligible new subscribers get 7 days free; after that, your Apple ID is charged $119.99/year (shown in your local currency in the app) and the subscription renews yearly until canceled. Cancel during the trial and you won't be charged.
I subscribed before — how do I get Premium back on a new device?
Tap Restore Purchases on the paywall while signed in to the same Apple ID you purchased with.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com — Apple decides refund eligibility, not us.
How do I delete my account and data?
In the app: Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and all server-side data immediately and wipes the app's local database — no email or support ticket needed. Details in the Privacy Policy. Remember to also cancel your subscription in iOS Settings if you have one.
Why don't my calorie numbers match another app?
Every nutrition figure in 1origin is an estimate — even printed labels are legally allowed to vary by around 20%. What 1origin optimizes for is consistency (the same meal giving the same number, so your weekly trend is real), and it learns from your corrections. There's a full explanation in the app: Settings → Methodology & Accuracy.
What does 1origin do with my Apple Health data?
1origin reads, read-only, and writes nothing: heart-rate variability and resting heart rate (so your coach can adapt to how you're recovering), sleep (for on-device sleep insights), steps and active energy (so the coach can weigh what you've done against what you've eaten), body weight (which powers your weight trend), then, for the health monitor screen, your heart rate, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, wrist temperature and blood glucose — your respiratory rate and your sleeping wrist temperature also score your recovery and stress against your own baseline, and your heart rate, blood oxygen and blood glucose are shown on that screen and nowhere else — and finally cardio fitness (VO₂ max) and lean body mass, when your watch or scale writes them, which are read on your device to build your body-age read; the reading itself never leaves your phone.
Every reading except body weight stays out of our database. What rides along with your coach messages is a compact summary: your recovery and stress percentages; once you have a current baseline, today's HRV in milliseconds beside your own thirty-day baseline; your latest resting heart rate in beats per minute beside your own thirty-day average; your sleep summary (last night, its scores, your seven- and thirty-night averages, your sleep debt, consistency and tonight's need); today's steps and active energy with your own averages; and your body-age figure in years with how it has moved. The reply is generated from it and nothing in it is stored by us. A weight read from Apple Health is treated like a weight you type in: saved to your account so your trend follows you across devices. Health data is never in analytics and never used for ads. You can revoke access any time in the Health app; details in the Privacy Policy.
What is the percentage on the readiness screen?
It's a readiness estimate computed on your device against your own baselines: your HRV leads it — today's reading measured against your own 30-day baseline — with your resting heart rate, last night's sleep, and your breathing rate and wrist temperature joining in when your device records them, all shown with the device they came from. Every weight is printed under Settings → Methodology & Accuracy, so you can add the number up yourself. It is not a clinical measurement, it is never compared to anyone else, and it only ever softens a training suggestion — it never gates or prescribes one. If you'd rather read words than a number, Home and the Train tab state the same thing as a plain sentence.
Do my calorie targets change when I train harder?
No — and that's deliberate. Your daily targets are computed once from your own body basics (height, weight, sex, age, activity level) and your goal, so the number you're aiming at is stable enough to be worth aiming at. Steps and active energy give your coach context for what to say, but they never silently move your target. When your weight or your answers change, the targets are recomputed.
Does 1origin order my groceries?
No. 1origin builds the list — from your week's plan and what your pantry looks low on — and you shop it however you like; you can share or copy the list out of the app. Nothing is sent to a delivery service.
Sloane said something odd — should I trust it?
Sloane is an AI coach, and AI can be wrong. Treat it as a knowledgeable training partner, not a clinician — anything medical belongs with your doctor or a registered dietitian. If a reply seems off or inappropriate, email us with a screenshot; we review every report.
Notifications stopped arriving.
Check iOS Settings → Notifications → 1origin is allowed, then open the app once so it can re-register. 1origin only sends coach nudges — no marketing pushes — so if they're on and you still see nothing, write to us.
